January 9 Thursday Pleasant & tho colder in the morning (8_) warmer thru the day, i did cooking for self , here at [illegible] especting [sic] Leona home today, she came first PM it took us most of PM to get part of the many little things I have had here, over home again after which Geo, Rose and I took supper at M.E. church. Leona & I alone. Thru' eve. Ellery out to Military supper & Ball. January 10 Pleasant and mild. Mer 1°- at sun rise, & rose to 25°+ in PM. At home again, & I kept busy all AM at least, sweeping and putting to rights in sitting room. Trying to get all things in their places, & rest some, Went with Geo & Rose to [illegible] supper [illegible] at the B. Church, then they went to church & I spent eve at home with Leona [illegible]
