January 15 Wednesday Cloudy morning & snow commenced to fill air in middle AM. Mer standing 22°+ at noon, but strong NE wind made it seem colder & drifted snow considerably throughout the day. No one in thro' the day (except Ellery to his meals) but for a wonder Ellery came in soon after 9 o.c. in evening. January 16 Bright & pleasnt agian, Mer 14°+ at 9 o,c, onle rose to 18°+, not much wind. Tho my cold id much better, not feeling first best & didn't [illegible] to accomplish much, but found jobs of [illegible] with little things to take [illegible] but feeling lonely enough, having no one for [rest illegible]
