January 25 Saturday Pleasant & mild again, mer 29°+ at both sunrise & sunset, tho' only 30°+ at 2 o,c, pm. "Estelle" & I out for a walk after breakfast, wanting a breath of the clear good air, I had but little to do about house, except to show Leona some about making chicken pie, sent invite to Lizzie Spaulding (by Estelle) to take dinner with us, accepted & spent part PM& Estelle went home soon after. January 26 Not as pleasant, cloudy all day with strong wind from SE. While preparing for breakfast, found stove pipe in my room burning out, had no great trouble, but kept on look out all day, not having more fire than was needed, feeling tired when all was over. I gave up going to meeting, tho E- went, In PM commenced letter to Aunt A_R_. E_ at home with me in eve.
