March 3 Monday All A.M. bright & clear, but an unpleasant south wind blowing very hard all day. Mer rose to 42+ P.M. & think stood at sunset. All about as usual with us, I spent awhile in A.M. writing more to Aunt A-, while were at dinner Lena had word they had company at home & wanted to go, which she did about 3 o,c, I spent part P.M. with Rose, she not much better of cold, Lizzie S- spent eve with me. Ellery in early March 4 Mild & beautiful morning, & Ellery up in good season, having breakfast so Lizzie S- got away soon after 8 o,c, (she having spent night with one) at which time Mer was 35+ & only rose to 43+ but on wind sun seems very warm & (?) going very fast
