Being "St. Patricks Day" town filled with Irish. March 17 Monday More pleasant than yesterday, temperature about same, all about same with us, I had very slight faint spell awhile at the table in morning, but well as usual thro' the day, in to see Rose in AM & get little stitching done, & down town of errands with Mrs Howe, in PM, rest of which I spent at mending, also most of eve, Lena & I alone all eve. March 18 Weather remains about same, Mer only 8°+ 7 o.c. & 21°+ at 12 o.c. & rose to 25°+ in PM with quite a breeze from N-W- Lena at washing, & had it out of way AM, so as to do up work after dinner, of course I had extra chores in AM, was in to see Rose after dinner, & she came in here in PM to go with one in to sit with May Stewart awhile, but she had gone out, see R stopped awhile. E- in early
