May 24 Saturday Still warm, Mer about 80°+ at noon, happily surprised to find it raining gently early this morning, but not much after 7 o.c. AM. Anna still here & helping Lena in kitchen. doing considerable cooking, & Lena swept chambers, for which I had picking up & putting to nights to do, which with other little jobs & some mending, & being down shopping with Rose, took up day. May 25 An unpleasant day, being cloudy with rain by spells all day, had hard thunder storm in the night lightening almost constantly for awhile, with heavy claps of thunder but all rejoicing to see the rain once more. No meeting at B_ church A quarterly meeting at M E church. Ellery went to hear Rev Hall at L P church, home in eve
