July 9 Wednesday Clearing up after hard rain during night, all well, & being washing day I had more work in kitchen, Estelle left me for home soon after breakfast, day passed much as usual only that Lena was over here helping Anna some about washing, bringing some of her own, Geo- & Rose home about noon, Lena there most of day. After tea Anna picked currants & we looked them over ready for putting up tomorrow. July 10 Pleasant, only so very warm. Mer reaching 90° - remaining there most of P.M. I kept busy about putting up currants all day making "spiced currants" both with & without (sifting?), Anna ironing what time she could get in A.M. in P.M. I was over to sit with Rose awhile, spent eve by myself. Tho' Lena & Anna were visiting in kitchen.
