Monday August 18 Warmer, pleasant till last of P.M. when commenced to rain little, increasing, & falling all eve - I attended the funeral services of Mrs. Hedge, - who died last Saturday night - held at the house, she having been confined to her bed about 3 weeks. In P.M. I tried to find what "needed to be done" first I didn't accomplish much. While over to Rose's in eve, Ellery came for me, he just returned from his trip. August 19 Pleasant, & warmer than of late, Lena at washing some before breakfast. I did up chores in morning Lena had washing out of way so as to get dinner as usual. I spent A.M. usual, busy here & there & doing little jobs repairing, in P.M. after trying "cross-stitching" awhile on piece flannel, took work in & stopped couple hours with Mrs Howe, pleasant to have Ellery at home.
