Thursday October 23 Cold & blustering, Mer only rising to little above 50°+. Too cold for cleaning, so Lena did washing, I had chores to do in kitchen, just through when Charlotte called on us, back after visiting Rose & baby. I was in to see Rose, & found baby sleeping in P.M. After 4 o,c, Charlotte & I started out calling. Called on Mrs Walker who is quite sick & others, C_ came home & spent part eve with me. October 24 Still as cold, but bright sunshiny & no wind, all well with us, Charlotte called in morning & I went down town with her, decided on cloth for winter sock & took some to Mrs Connor for making, in to see Mrs Howe on return, also to see "baby" in P.M., kept busy at little jobs repairing &c, spent part of eve with Rose, with work, found E_ at home at 9 o,c,.
