Thursday December 30 Cloudy most of day, with damp snow or "mist" in air in P.M. All well as usual with us, Charlotte helping all she could till work was done, tho' not much to be done in kitchen, doing no cooking except steak for dinner, in P.M. I went with Charlotte down town she getting "signers" to a petition for girls in "reform school", spent eve at concert, by "grand Irish singer" December 31 Very pleasant & all well, soon as Charlotte & I had chores out of way in A.M., we started out for Depot & offices down that way (& home by way of town) for "signers". I had sweeping & some extra chores to do in P.M., but through so we went in to see Rose awhile before tea, E_ off to "select party" in eve & Charlotte out to prayer meeting. I was in to Maz Stewarts, an hour or more. Charlotte home about 9 o,c,
