Down a while evg. 113 1/2 - 6 = 107 1/2 Tues. 20. 14° cloudy, N.E. Thawed a very little. Splendid sleighing for a couple weeks past, or so. Busy - C. in P.M. - office evg. writing George. Wed. 21. 24° Cloudy, N.E. (snowing lightly) Faired; & thawed very little. [Cooked?] evg. Busy. C in P.M. abstracting. Home evg. Thurs. 22. 10° clear, N.W. gtle. Thawed a little. Abstracting. C. in P.M. At G.A.R. camp-fire evg. Fri. 23. 24° cloudy N. gtle. Colder & blizzard-like P.M. & evg. Charlotte not in - sprained wrist. Supper at [Wittlingns?] & at office till 9. Sat. 24. 12° - strong N.W. blizzardy, cloudy. Cleared & very cold day. Dinner at hotel & home early to supper & staid there.
