MON. 26. 20° Cloudy; & trees Beautiful- especially larches- in their [?] dress. Cleared. A.M. - Ice dropping from trees. C in office P.M. - Ur home after 3.40 getting in wood, etc. - office evg. - TUES. 27. 22° Fair; pleasant day.- Took up middle-room carpet morn, & home early 4 P.M.- C. at office, P.M. - Dinner at Slitor House. - H. Ephraim & wife suffocated by coal gas. -- office evg. - WED. 28. Cloudy & chill. N.W. Rather busy. Mtg. evg. Charlotte has more cold. THURS. 29. Foggy, 18°. Clearing P.M. Girls & I at service A.M. at M.E Church, Rev. Stewart preached. At office 2:20 to 5 P.M. & filed 8 [?]. Home evg. FRI. 30. 23° Clear. N.W. lazy. Very pleasant day.
