5 25 aug 1856 p2 knowing the intensity of the love I have for you, say, "desr girl love him for he is sincere. He will prove true, he is loyal". O god thou knowst "I say the the truth in Christ I lie not," O I tell you Clara that although kingdoms may rise & fall, that although the most rugged mountain may Crumble & desolve when placed in Contact with the destructive elements of nature, and although the pillers of old earth her self may Crumble & give way, yet my love Can never fail nor grow Cold, never, never, never, And were the earth this moment to sink, I would go down [?] terrible splendor of of her ruins shouting in stories of love that would roll like the voice of thunder along the line of boundless eternity.
