for Stephen down here this week to take her home. I guess I will not go up to Bloomfield with him this time. I saw Mrs Findly & Hattie to day on their way to St Louis. Mrs F is a good woman. Now I am perfectly willing for you to go with any lady you want to, & of course I shall be just as free, the arrangement suits me exactly. Be sure Miss Drust does not tell, for that would spoil the fun, & if I go up to B. this summer I want you to treat me only as friend & if we attend any parties let Miss D. be your choice, for every body will watch us, & we may blind them. I could not think of visiting there & every person thinking they knew all about us. I am much obliged to you for your criticism. Afraid you will find more to criticise than will be
