give me the most happiness. I am naturally so suspicious that nothing but steady, uniform acts of kindness can ever convince me of any persons affection being real. It has truly been said that "it is the thousand & one little acts of kindness which make up our sum of happiness in this life" But do not think from what I have said that I have any fears for the future. I have not, at least about that. But I do fear & hope we will be both disappointed. I fear you will not realize all you expect, for it is so seldom we ever do, & I hope I shall be far happier than I expect, of course. I expect to be happy, yet being suspicious & caucious naturally, I do not look forward for as much as some others & consequently am often happily disappointed.
