Bloomfield Iowa May 25th 1858. Dear Clara: Your very acceptable note of the 23rd inst was duly received, and read over three times! My opinion is, (on that question which you propose) that neither of us acted, either foolishly or or wrongfully, but that we both acted just as we honestly felt in our hearts. You must not think that I have any objections to your taking little Charlie to live with us, for indeed I have none, whatever. It would be no burden to me, Clara, none in the least, to keep him. I would love to see it. I think your reasons for doing so are very commendable, and right; and besides that I feel just as much under obligations to Bro H-. for haveing been
