your letter I said to myself, "now I shall not be vexed any if Clara does give me [real?] scolding, but I will kiss the letter for a good one any how." Sure enough, my kiss was not bestowed in vain. True, I cried over it, but the tears which I shed were not tears of sorrow, but those of joy and peace. I should think I did recollect that "little affair"(?) that happened at our last interview. I regard that as being doubly, the happiest evening I ever experienced. Well, if you feel as I do, I suppose you do want to see me. Yes, I know you do, For I truly want to see you more than I ever did in my life. We cannot come down this week possibly, but perhaps we we may next week, we will if we can get there with a buggy & horses. Clara, I do not know that I should be so anxious to teach an other term
