[postmarked May 24, 1943] Army Air Forces Navigation School, San Marcos, Texas Dearest: Sunday flight! "Ain't" it terrible! Usually we have Sundays off but not so today. The weather is threatening so they're holding up until they hear from "metro" (that's the weather office); but it's pretty certain I'll fly. I dont know where. We have a "secret" mission this time. Nobody seems to know what for. You know I have been developing a taste for fish. Not that I am becoming fond of it, but anyway I like it fairly well. I learned to eat fried
