Camp Montgomery Near Corrinth Miss. July 8/62 Dear Father I just recieved yours of the 2nd by Lieut Heunnington I have not recieved the one by mister Parker yet. I wrote to you a week ago last saturday informing you of my recieving my Commission. I also wrote asking you to inquire of Mr Cone the taylor in Nickons block if he has got my measure yet. he took it to make a gray or dark uniform. we only recieved the pants. he took the measure a fiew days before we left Davenport, I went to Corrinth yesterday the distance is between 2 1/2 & 3 miles. it is a small place of no account except in the railroat point of view
