I will want straps on the top of the trunk to strap my blankets on. drop me a few lines when the trunk starts. Gen Halleck starts east in the morning and Gen. U S Grant takes his place here. Mr Brayton is here connected with the railroad business. 
I am well. it is quite pleasant to day it rained all night last night have my name painted on the end of my trunk
