Sweeney Comdg. the Infantry, we might of captured nearly all of the rebs if the cavelry had of been under Genl. Sweeney, the day that we left here the rebs attacked Colinsville a small post on the R.R. between here and Memphis and got driven off by only 500 men the rebs had bet. 3 & 4000, we were down below holly Springs. I enjoyed the trip better than any that I have ever been on as I was mounted and nights stayed in the house with the Genl. I am well. yours &c Geo. F. Hall
