a field office in the 2nd Regt is sumething that would not work very well, nearly all of the officers of the Regt. know Bob. as a fine fellow in time of peace but as a coward in time of Battle. there would be several resignations offered if he recieves an appointment as to T. I. Makinney he was 1st Lieut of Co. "A" when we started out then after Adjutant Chipman was promoted to Major he was our Adjutant. then Gen Curtice took him with him on his staff with the rank of Major I think. as Gen. Curtice took him from the Regt. let Curtice find him some other place out of our Regiment. we have made a selection and want to see it carried through
