La Grange Tenn. Sept. 15/63 Dear Father the bearer of this Private C. D. Rogers of my Company has a furlough of 30 days. he is Burr Andrews Brother in law he can give you all of the news. we are all well down here. I recd yours of the 3d on the 11th. In my last on the 8th I wrote that we had not heard anything from S. F. Cowdrey. I think that he is safe but that they will send him east to be exchanged he was taken by Col Roddey's band they are a regular organized band. enclosed you will find my leave of absence. I thought that I would not write ainy thing about it for fear that It would come back as it has, but in about 8 months more I think I will come up I dont think that they will disapprove an aplication then. I should of liked to of been up there at the fair. the weather down here is fine but dry it has not rained for some time so it is very dusty Yours &c Geo. F. Hall
