Pulaski Tenn. Nov 15th 1863 Dear Father I wrote a fiew lines a fiew days from this place. we are here yet and may stay for a fiew weeks. I think it is the nicest place to live in that we have been in yet in the Sunny South. four of the Staff Officers of Gen Sweenys staff my self included are boarding at a private house a fine family of Southerners and it seams like home he has a plantation about four miles from town so we live on the fat of the land pleanty of milk cornbread and molasses chicken fixings &c. My room mate Major Thomas B Morrison of the 66th Ind. Infty. wanted me to enquire through you about Mrs. Proudfast the Milliner he went to School with hur daughters and he also brought hur sisters dress from Scotland to hur also what is the girls names he has forgotten one of them He sends his best respects to the family and would like to hear from them and let them hear from him. the Major is a Scotchman and quite patriotic and a brave Officer. about my good close if there is any person comeing down to the 2nd Div. 16th Army Corps that will bring them to me you might send them Direct letters by way of Nashville Tenn. by the way.
