I have been so busy this month that I have not had time to take a side but I shal by tomorrow and in the eavening visit some natives to show my new uniform. they are very agreable. I have two fine horses one black and one grey so you see that I can ride out as much as I am a mind to when I am not to busy. we have fine weather now. I am well. I almost forgot to tell the joke on myself the other day I thought I would play a joke on the Smoked American lady that does my washing so I put a couple of paper collars in with the rest of my dirty clothes but what was my surprise when last night the woman that sweaps the room and makes the beds brought my clean cloths up collars and all and said that, Aunty was afraid dat she couldnot do dem collars right she was afraid dat she would spile dem, but she had dun de best she nowed how. She had wiped them off and ironed them so that they looked almost as good as new. I paid hur the same as the other pieces and said nothing, but after she went out. the Major burst out a laughing and cried out George your sold. it was pretty good I expected to sell the Smoked American lady but got sold my self. Yours &c Geo. F. Hall
