an "artista" they all had to have my autograph. Then they wrote me their names & addresses & we all promised to exchange letters. Finally after an hour or so - when they had to go, I was completely overwhelmed when each lass in turn kissed me goodbye, I couldn't quite get over their warm acceptance of us after expressing some very complimentary spanish adjectives - intelligent, attractive. We have travelled much in yrs. gone by but never have we encountered such affection, [sooo?] we are enjoying us, them, ourselves! We drove to Tucson by way of Mesa Verde & the South Rim of the Grande Canyon - 1300 mi. I do all the problem & city driving even into Mex at Nogalis - which was another mad experience. We saw my painting "Sigle - six, six" hanging in the Univ. of Ariz. Art Gallery in the show "The West - 80 Contemporaries" in Tucson. The exhibition hung in the 3 large galleries, My painting face us from the near center of the opposite wall of the entrance. I was pleased. We are taking a tour beginning Monday, of some of the other significant areas nearby, among them [Tulo?] also rich in archaeological discoveries - sculptures & pyramids of bygone cultures - Such beautiful stonework in sculpture & pyramid & such a wealth of knowledge & artistry displayed in all these civilizations produced in these heroic monuments.
