94 Front of Petersburg, Va Sunday Augt. 14th 1864 Wrote letter to sister Anna in relation to the $20.00 sent her through father. Orders have been recieved to be ready to move at 7 oclock this evening. 29 men returned from the Hospital, for whom I secured rations to put them on same footing with the other men, viz soft bread to 15th. My valiece was sent to the wagon train. Monday 15th Regiment moved to the front again last night, a little to the left of our previous position. Very heavy rain storm this evening. Issued whisky to the 14 men working in the trenches.
