96 After reporting at 3d Division Head Quarters, I was called at 2.30 oclock, P.M., and being questioned by the Judge Advocate in front of a number of Officers, who composed the court, and Lieut. Snyder, the Judge Advocate read my evidence and then ordered me to sign it. The evidence was about as follows: Know Lieutenant Snyder as an officer of the 50th P.V.: that he did buy and give spirituous Liquor for Benjamin Knarr, private of Company "C", 50th P.V., to the amount of one canteen full. All this while under arrest, on or about the 20th day of July 1864. Knew him to give liquor and drink with private soldiers. Never was cognizant of
