yet I know of no "Lion in the way," other than the one mentioned, but we will throw it aside with the huge mountain of other imaginary evils that continue to annoy the "human family". We are well at present. Time, {as he moves on bringing sorrow and mourning to home circles all over our land, and bearing many dear ones away from earth,} still deals Kindly with us. The people of our humble Village, live, move, and act as in days of yore. Every one seems intent on doing and daring for their own personal aggrandizement - and we, living in "Rome", do as "Rome" does;- having at the same time, an ardent desire to be credited with, at least, a small amount of that very worthy principle denominated Charity. I would like to have seen you voluntarily assuming the position, and officiating in the capacity of Husbandman. Doubtless you acted your part nobly, and may the enjoyment of about 150 plates of mush this Winter, reward you for all your toil, - but if you do not relish a dish of that Kind better than I, it will meagre remuneration.
