Have just finished breakfast, and it is too dark yet, to go to the shop, and as Kate has expressed her intention of writing a "letter of her own," I will pen an additional line or two. As you are so zealous in the defence of your "Fairy-land," I will concede it to be a little extra, and the productiveness of its soil will entitle it to the appellation of "Land of Corn," at least. The prices of Grain here are greater than they are in some parts of the "West," owing doubtless to the less aabundance in Penna. Wheat is $2.10, here. I am doing very well in my position as "Wagon Maker," Work is plenty and prices good. If "fortune continues to favor the brave" I can, at least, make an honest livelihood. This will be more than many are doing at the present time. This sheet is about full and I close by sending my love to all, and a request to hear from all very soon, and subscribing myself Your sincere friend and Nephew J. C. Kendall
