I feel very higly honored by the [invitation] to be present at your wedding. I always did like to see folks "a gettin married" consequently would make a great effort to be present, provided you told me in time. Seriously dear Sam. my prayer is, when you shall take that important step, it will be with one, on whom is lavished all the love of your heart, and that "she" may be truly worthy of your affection. There was a "Union" formed in our Neighborhood a few weeks sinse that I fear was only a mockery. the lady was a friend of mine & a good girl, but like many others ambitious, and I know her to have been engaged to a Soldier, & was to have been married to him during the summer by some means they became estranged & more through pique than any other motive I think she accepted an old mans propsals.
