my thoughts have all gone a [straying] tonight, I cannot concentrate them at least. I guess if you would be as confidential with your friends in Iowa as you was with me, they would not think you were very near getting married - havent even axed the gall yet? You will have to be in a hurry I would think if you desired her to get ready in so short time - thats the way it appears to me, of course I dont know any thing about it, but I always heard it took gils some time to get ready for so momentous an occasion - but of this enough, t'will be time for me to talk of that when the occasion demands it. Your Friends the Patterson's will be almost Neighbors of our's in the Spring - I hope there will be snow when you come so we can call on them, also on Tom. Johns, the old crusty Batchelor just stays at home all the time I think he will surly come down soon. I'de like to see him, he's a real good old boy. Lo, here come's the bottom of the 8th & last page, & I'll have to say good bye. now remember I will look for you or a letter soon, sooer, soonest.
