be Provost Marshal while he is gone - I am in hopes there wont be anything for Horton to do. I dont like him - he is too much of a tyrant to suit me - I have always got along with him very well though - I do my duty and keep out of his way as much as possible - he has never spoken a cross word to me yet - he makes some of the boys that dont conduct themselves to suit him dance juber - I think we will have him up before a Courtmartial before many weeks have some serious charges made out against him and forwarded to Headquarters, think we will hear from them this week . . . This has been a cold day there is about two inches of snow on the ground and from the appearances now I think we will have more by morning - havent seen any body at all out sleighriding to day & think you might bring Billy and the sleigh down and take me sleigh riding before the snow leaves
