Jan. 7th 1865 For more than one week I have permitted a letter half written to remain in my portfolio, while I with sore fingers worked and "shucked" at my corn, during that space of time we have husked and cribbed near fifteen hundred bushels of corn, and I now have the pleasure of anouncing to Miss Tillie, that my corn is now in,- all excepting some shock corn which I purpose feeding in the shock- I am now bringing in that. I can now begin to see the time dawning when I can make good my promise- you may expect to see me between this and the 1st of February. I will not
