I think we will suceed in tearing the gentleman's Straps off. have Capt Fidler on our side and he is going to get all the testimony he can and forward it to Col Sidell - I havent written to Hevins yet Spect he will think I am dead if I dont write soon - I got a letter from Libbie yesterday - She said Papa & Mother were going to start East last Thursday expect they are are at Aunt Leonards to day - I got one from Uncle George last Monday too - Yes bring up your apples and cider - I can eat half a dozen and drink a few glasses of cider if you will Say it wont make me tight - I havent had the pleasure of being on a big drunk yet and dont intend to while I am in the Army - there is but two or three others in Co B that can say the same - I dont think there is much danger of the Guerrillas catching a feller now - there has been several companies of cavalry stationed around through the country they have been Staying in. lately - they tried to get one of their men out of Jail over at Bardstown last week, and two of them got killed and three others were wounded - was thirty eight of them in the gang when they made the attack
