Lebanon Ky Feb 24", 1865 Dear Aunt Tillie I received your good and welcome letter this morning and have taken up my position by the old desk pen in hand to reply - was not at all surprised to hear you say that you were going to commence keeping house + I got a letter from Libbie the same day I sent the last one to you, telling me that you were about to leave us + I think I shall be there when that dreadful event takes place, if I can get a furlough or even a seven days pass. What will all of our little folks do up there when "Aunt Tillie" leaves them? they will have nobody to help them fix up for important occations Company "B" still has the honor of being commanded by Capt Harry Horton - I am in hopes there will be a change within the next month. Col Sidell wrote to Capt Fidler that he was preparing a copy of the charges and the evidence against him to forward to the War Department and also a copy to go to the Commander of this department, it will soon be time for us to hear from "Department Head Quarters. I have been reading "Capts Grant & Speke's travels in Africa" they had an interesting time finding the Source of the River Nile. Enclosed find much love for yourself and all the folks Good bye, Write Soon From, Jeff
