The rain makes it muddy too, so that I can&'t let the cattle run in the stalks. So you see that I am having a "peck of trouble." Well "what a consolation it is to have some one to tell our troubles to." I feel better already. (since I told my troubles.) I think I will take a smoke and I will feel still better. I did not attend either one of those dancing parties. I feel that I am getting old. I do not have the same inclination to run about at nights, now, that I did when a "young man." how fast some people do get old. Please let Thos. Johns have an invitation to attend the next "oyster supper" in time for him to be on hands
