Uncle Stephen Ulery's farm. It was struck to-day about noon. The amount of course is not as yet known, but it is in considerable quantities, as the gas is forcing it clear to the top of the well which is five hundred feet deep. It demonstrates the fact that this is an Oil region and we people who own lands in this vicinity are feeling pretty good. in fact we are feeling first rate. Come back to Penna and bore for ile? "Great is Petroleum and boring is its profit." What has become of Cousin George. I havn't heard from him for a long time. Not since he turned Republican and wanted us poor Democrats hung. I suppose he will now get home as the war is over. We are all in mourning here over Lincoln's untimely death. His assassin and his abettors have damned themselves to eternal infamy. "Take him all in all we ne'er shall see his like again." Now I want you give my very best respects to your husband. And believe me as ever your friend and cos, J.B. Wise
