week, if they dont come after me sooner. Papa, mother, and Harry, or rather, old Joe & Billy, brought me over to day: Aunt Jane's brother, Levi, and her cousin, Levi Leonard, are visiting her, now; came Friday, and are going away soon. Uncle Morg and Jane brought them over here, today, and Joe Ross was here so you see there was quite a houseful of big and little folks. Oh! why dident you and Uncle Sam come over, "tother" night. "Cos" why we had a big dance, I reckon, for we had a fiddle there, and they always dance where there are fiddles, dont they? You might have danced your fill, and then rested and [went?] in again. There was a fidlar staying all night, and he brought in his fiddle, played ever so long, but dident any body pay much attention to him. We have been having some nice, cold, weather not any rain, to amount to any thing, until last night for two weeks. Had quite a rain (Upside-down, at head of this and previous page:-) Will you let me send my love to Sam? I will promise that I wont run off with him or give you any just cause for jealousy. Lone me one of your little lambs, cant you and [Ill get] in Bells [truck] and come after it. (Vertically down, at mid-right, this and previous page:-) I have a new "calicer" dress to make, thats one reason I came over, you see, I had a letter from Ara Friday, she likes to go to school very well. I cant write you any more Case why maby you cant read what I have written. Write soon. Good [bye] [Ever] your best looking niece Libbie Jasackson Hoge
