I saw the woman and six of the men last Saturday, was detailed as a special guard with some other of our regt. to guard the inside of the Penetentiary. Have one sentinal at each sell, and each of the priseners in a seperat sell have a 60ty pound shot, one on each of there legs. Handcuffs on ther rists, and hood on there heads that come down over there eyes and eares, the hoods are a bout two inches thick, are stuffed with cotten, altogather they are a sorry looking set. There trials have commenced. This mornings Cronickle contanes the statments of several the witnesses examined yesterday, also the official anonciment of the capture of Jefferson. C.
