& fanny, Mother Mag & Jessie were going to spend the Afternoon. at Cliffords. & we ones fish. but the fates were not propitios, for when we neared the church. we saw. Cliffords taking Sheep to the Creek to wash them. Just at the precise spot we were going to cast in our lines, so - - concluded that as they had so many men to cook supper for, they would rather have visitors some other time. & drove on our Cart, thinking we would come home by Billy Loerts but when we got where the road use to be, it was fenced up - I then proposed going to Millers Hole to fish, all consented, & we went. I tied up the Horses where we use to, When going for plums, then carried the Stool & shawl under a big Tree on the creek bank. Gave Mother her Knitting & told her to take a seat - take off her Bonnet & make her self comfortable, while we caught fish.
