at Abners School House, Except Bell Libbie & I, we had to come home & Lib Said it was too warm for her to go, it is very dry & warm here, & the Chince Bugs are taking the Wheat Oats & Corn, the bugs have taken one field of Corn of thirty Acres, East of Hoge's & the man is plowing it up - & intends to plant it over - again, if we could be blessed with a dashing rain now, it would drownd a great many of them, papa you know had over six hundred Bushels of Corn Stored at [Lowstant] when you were at home, well he realized Just two hundred Dollars, for it, & did not get the money untill week before last, Dana Clark shipped it for him & he is about gone up & it was like pulling Eye Teeth, to get (Upside-down, at head of this page and previous:-) I wish I could send you a Boquet of Roses, they are nearly all in Bloom, Just come & get them, wont you? I think it very natural for you to be Home sick Occasionly, but you will get over that after awhile -
