delay - that hits Capt Green, Lt Neville and myself so you need not be surprised if you hear from me way up at Clinton Iowa some of these days, Old Co "B" went up there three or four weeks ago. I dont believe one out of five of these officers who have been mustered into this Regt can Stand the Examination they will have to - to hold their positions - if I was mustered I would expect to have to do some pretty big taking to hold my position as 1st Lt and I know I am as well posted if not a little better than three fourths of the Captains in the Regt - I dont care much about going back to old Co "B" but I would like very well to get out of the Service and go up to Illinois once more. Our Surgeon Says Green and I shant go back to Co "B" if he can help it, and I know the Col will do all he can to keep us in the Regt - if he will use his influence to have us mustered out, it will please me better than for him to try to keep us in - I spoke to him some time ago about trying to get mustered out - but he said he dident want me to get any such notions
