as that in my head he couldent spare me. I got a letter from Tillie yesterday, she said the old 88th had got back to Chicago. it must have passed through here. I have been expecting it to pass through this way for some time and thought I would get to see Uncle Irve but it seems I missed them somehow. I dont believe I will be of any account at home this Summer and next Fall if I do come, will be too lazy to work while the weather is so warm. perhaps I can get myself naturalized to it after while by commencing in the Spring while the weather is cool. the folks at home are very anxious for me to come if they will take care of me until I get capable of taking care of myself I will make some efforts to get out of the Service. Well "no man knoweth what a day may bring forth". Surgeon Day & Wife, Capt Green and myself went down in the city to church this morning. heard an excellent Sermon from a man who used to be Chaplin in the 5th Kentucky Infantry. he does not use such flowery and "highflown" language as some do.
