Home June 25th 1865 Dear "Tille & Sam" "don't you think you should have a genuine, home-spun- old-fashioned blowing-up for not writing to us oftener? havent had a letter from you for two long weeks, & Mother thinks you are both got the Chicken-fox. "Bloss" has fell over a Weed & busted her biler. her little red calf has greved its self to Death, because "Blossie was not." the old speckled hen has ceased to Crow when it is day light, & never a liven Soul to help any of you, when you holler "Butter Milk, butter milk," or 'I'll git it myself. Just Expect I'll have to come all the way to Linn Grove myself, & see what the matter is if you dont write soon kase mama is getting nervous about you [Vertically, from bottom left:] the work. & Mag, could pay her what ever she pleased - Bill & I sleep on the Lounge in Mothers room, & Mag & Irve occupy our room Mag says tell you that they are going to, write to you this week, we look for George home soon if they dont go by Penna saw an order in Fridays paper to discharge all detached soldiers immediately. - - Mother is going to send you a Box, of things as soon as her cheese get good. I must quit now, & make pies, Cake, & Bread for Dinner. be good Children, dont work too hard. love from all, Pete, Will & Lewis Springer were all here for Dinner Yours truly Bell -
