Tea is nearly ready - We are having lots o' good things to eat - came in cherry time - have blackberries plums apples - tomatoes "garden sass" of all kinds - and water-melons - Whew! dont your mouth water? Grapes are very plenty, but not quite ripe - Kate will have several bushels if I dont eat them all while I'm here - Write to me soon - Give my - well - my kindest regards to your husband - When are you coming to Kansas? Thats the sheep country - Do write soon - Where's Milton? - married I recon - That seems to be man's aim - Did I tell you Capt Pierce had gone and got married - Well, he has, the scamp - and did'nt ask me, could he? Major Woodworth in [L?]. now I suppose - Has been out at [pilesburg?] Told me in his last letter he had resigned and would be home soon - He's a good man and good true friend of mine - Old though - Write to me soon - Accept much love - As ever your true friend Lou
