The Jr. class had a "Box Social" in Nov. and an "Old Fashioned School". Everyone dressed like little "Kids". Miss Henderson sponsered it and everyone had a lot of fun. My 2nd Declam contest was on Jan. 30, 1934. at Waukie. Margerate Lenard got 3rd place. Mason Lenard got 2nd place. I recieved 1st place. In Basket Ball - 1933-34 (See page 4) we had a very good boys team, our girls team was quite good also. One of the most exciting games was the Minburn game. We won, but how we won. Two substitutes were put in only the last few minutes. These 2 Subs. made 1 basket each, making the score 30-28!! On Feb. 10 1934 was the High School Carnival. It was intended for Jan. but was postponed. The Home making girls had a booth called "Kitchen Korner" where we sold Coney Is., Ice cream cones, lemonade and a lot of other things. Mason Lenard and Clarence Keller had the "Purple Cross Hospital" with free ambulance service. There was a fun House run by Miss Henderson. A fish pond, fortune telling booth and a poupularity contenst. The walkathon was the big thing. There were about 10 couples. Mary Crocii and Kenneth Dallam were the love couple. There were two half hour periods. 1 the start of the contest, and 2nd the end. Elsie and I went to both. Had a lot of fun.
