Burlington, Ia Mar. 9, 1943 Tues 3:15 P.M. My Dearest:- I am sending you the Creamery Certificate, also my state Income tax blank & one for you to fill out and my Fed. one for you to go by & a large envelope for you to send them back to me in. I thought you probably could fix them up this week end & mail them back to me to sign and I can enclose the checks for them. I mailed the others into the Internal Revenue Office today. I haven't done much this afternoon, as I had a permanent & didn't come or call either. So I came home for a little while. I am so tired out it seems. I don't know whether I told you or not, but Van called mother Saturday from Lincoln Mr. Throop passed away very suddenly & he flew home. He had about a week I think. Said he was still in San Francisco & wasn't so bad & was glad he was still on this side, Mother had Herbert see about getting flowers for all of us. Don't know whether the family will stay in Lincoln or go with him. It is quite a bit warmer today but looks like rain or snow. The furnace is still smoking like everything. It is so discouraging. Guess the part hasn't arrived yet. Do hope it will soon. Marie is sure down in the dumps. She got a letter from Mac written two weeks ago saying not to expect mail from him from then on. He said he was going to take a long trip over the mts & was equipped to do his own cooking. And had gotten a box of Hershey bars for emergency
