Burlington, Da Feb., 5, 1943 My Dearest:- Rec'd your most welcomed letter this morning and always so glad to get them. I also rec'd the Valentine yesterday. It was Certainly nice and the verse on it was beautiful. Thanks so much. Thanks for the check too. Glad you got your mail all O.K. Ila Gilbert called up today and said they had called up to see how Dorothy was and she was much better. Her temperature is down to normal now, but was pretty weak yet & would have to be in hospital for 10 days longer. It sure is too bad. I rec'd a card from mother today, saying Dad was sick in bed & had been since last saturday. She said she thinks it was the Flu. He coughed so hard. If weather permits, I may drive up sunday & take Ila & Clarence with us. It is raining out tonight, so no telling what it will be like by then. Poor dad, I am afraid when he gets down. It is liable to be pretty hard to get over it. I had a letter from Gladys & she said the dentist thought she should have all her teeth pulled, that she had phyrea in them. What next? You will have to excuse the marks on the paper, as I went to sleep & couldn't help it. I am so tired tonight. I had a very busy day at the shop and another one tomorrow. I will need all of it I guess. I haven't paid the Dr. for my foot
