Burlington Ia Feb. 11, 1943 My Dearest:- It is just 9:30 ad I am just getting through work. I have had a very busy day, as usual. They are all like that any more. Everything seems to be running along in good order now. I finally read up on the instructions on the stoker & fixed it myself. So unless something serious is wrong I can fix it myself. Aren't I smart? Please write me right away how I go about it to file for Homestead exemption. What office is it? It is funny , but I have forgotten all about it. Let me know, and I will do it right away. My state income tax reports came today and my Federal ones came before. Do you want me to send them to you, or do you want me to take my figures & go to someone here & get it fixed up? The only trouble with that, is we might have the same trouble we had before. It would be better if you took the figures & gave them to someone there & let them figure it out, in case you don't have time. Be sure & let me know what you want to do right away. The refrigerator repair cost us $6.53. Gosh I hope that don't happen very many more times. It seems like there is always something. I will ask mother what Van's address is and let you know. Mother was saying this morning, she thought sure she would hear from Van, but didn't. She is feeling
